Enrollment Process
Enrollment is a commitment between the school and the parents. It is a promise that affects the lives of our dearest treasures— our children. ZCMS takes this commitment seriously. Your intention to enroll your child/ ren at ZCMS shows that you also take this commitment seriously. Please use the enrollment process to consider your values, your hopes for your children and the great joy and responsibility you have as you seek their best.

Fundamental Considerations
1. ZCMS is a Christian Mission School. We teach from a Christian point of view. We want the children and their families to understand themselves and their world as God does. Our mission statement reads:
Through Christian Mission education,
Zuni children will be planted in Biblical Truth
and surrounded by God's Grace.
It is our prayer and the prayer of the Christians who support our school that ZCMS graduates will:
understand truth;
know the choices that truth requires;
and, by God’s grace, choose faith.
2. ZCMS is a community of students, staff, parents and School Committee [Board]. Our school, like every school, sometimes experiences misbehavior on the part of students and misunderstandings between students, staff and parents. These times are an opportunity for us to teach children good behavior and practice God’s way of dealing with conflict.
We expect a high standard of behavior because we want the learning environment to be a safe place free of distractions.
We expect a high standard of academic work. Students who transfer from other schools may need a period of time to adjust to the different learning environment and expectations of ZCMS.
We expect and appreciate the support and participation of parents in our school. Communication between the teachers/principal and parents is essential to the child’s success.
3. ZCMS asks parents to contribute financially to the cost of their child/ren’s education. Christian mission education does require financial sacrifice. We expect parents who enroll their children at ZCMS to willingly accept this responsibility. The School Committee has established policies and tuition support programs that enable every family, regardless of income, to be able to meet the financial expectations. We have had the same tuition structure for the last 18 years, and our experience shows that parents who follow the policies and use the tuition support programs are able to meet their tuition obligations.
4. ZCMS does not provide transportation, food service or Special Education Services. Although ZCMS does not provide these services, the principal works with the parents to explore ways to meet the challenges parents have in these areas and to provide information about some alternate services ZCMS does have.
5. ZCMS admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights and privileges generally accorded to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, national and ethnic origin in the programs or activities made available to the students."
Tuition
Tuition is based on income, however, the cost of education is distributed in such a way that even families with low or unsteady incomes can readily afford ZCMS. About 50% of families of ZCMS students earn under $14,000 per year. Because of the generosity of our school supporters, tuition assistance is available and helps to cover a percentage of the total cost of tuition. As mentioned above, all families are required to contribute a portion of the total cost.
Tuition Work Credit Program: 20% of families of ZCMS students perform work assignments at the school to pay off some (or all) of their responsibility towards tuition. These may include preparing hot lunches, doing office work, or helping with custodial needs.
Current Enrollment Status: CLOSED (until March 2024)
